How Solid-Colour Background Removal Works
This tool samples the background colour at the edges of an uploaded image and removes pixels that closely match it, leaving the subject on a transparent background. It works best when the background is a clearly distinct, uniform colour.
When It Works Well And When It Struggles
It performs well on product shots against white, pastel, or solid studio backdrops. It struggles with gradients, busy patterns, subjects with similar colour to the background, or fine detail like hair and fur. For those cases, dedicated design tools with AI masking give better results.
